We are definitely putting this one on our list of Favorite RV Resorts to Stay!
Where to start. The Provo River Resort is the place to stay! We have had an amazing experience on our extended stay. We will go over everything this Resort has to offer and all of the easily accessible fun places to go adventuring! We have looked at other near by resorts, and for us the Provo River Resort is the place to stay! If you are looking for a way to unwind and connect to nature all while having adventure around the corner this is the place for you!
We were blown away.....
When we first pulled in we could not believe our eyes! We pulled into a long windy driveway on a hill and felt as if we were pulling into an exclusive area. At first we couldn't really see the Resort. All that was in view were the amazing surrounding mountains. As we slowly made our way in, our eyes were greeted with greenery in every direction. Once we reached the bottom of the hill, we were greeted by an array of willow trees, pine trees, juniper trees, and aspen trees. Soon a grouping of 3 Cabins, a park and play area, a bridge to the river, Restrooms/Showers, and a quaint front office came into view. We pulled right up to the office. Check in was a breeze. The staff was welcoming and shared in our excitement of our stay.
RV site Details....
The sites on the property are mostly back in sites with partial hook-ups including electric and water but no sewer. There is however a dump-station on site that can be used for a nominal fee. They also have a waste removal company that offers their services for a fee as well. Each site is well maintained with gravel and a grassy area. The entire Resort has so many huge trees that offer plenty of shade. There are plenty of river front sites that include a deck, picnic table, and a beautiful view of the river. The sites that are not directly on the river bank offer a more quiet shady area away from the excitement of the river. In every site you get relaxing sensation mountain air. All in all, every site is a good one! For a complete description of their amenities and up to date list of fees, click the link at the bottom of the page to visit their official website.
Our Extended Stay
We have been so fortunate to have experienced an extended stay at the Provo River Resort. With that being said, we have been able to fully experience almost all that the Resort has to offer. We have stayed in each of the different types of sites they offer. The first sites we stayed in were the front sites. This site offered us the ease of being in close proximity to all the amenities, such as the park, the restrooms/ showers, the bridge and river access, and the front office. Then we moved to back sites away from the river. We loved how quiet, shady and quaint these sites were. The final site and our favorite is the river-front "back" sites. There are sites all along the river that start behind the front office and go all the way to the end of the property. Our favorite ones are the three all the way at the end. They offer all of the beauty and ambiance of the river, an amazing view of the mountains, the shade from big trees, and privacy from the bushy landscaping, with out the business of being up front by all of the amenities. While staying in the back sites we had a perfect combination of a quaint stay and the option to go up towards the fun activities.
Fun at the Resort.....
The Provo River Resort has many activities that they offer. They offer fly fishing, floating down the river, and even a zip-line. Guests of the resort have access to fly fishing with their stay. They even have all the gear you need ready to rent! The river is available to float and the office has rafts and inner tubes to rent as well. They have river floating passes available that grant you access to the start of the river launching area and a ride back up from the lowest part of the river floating route. The zip-line pass is available for purchase at the front office and includes
transportation up the mountains to the start of the zip- line. There are plenty of events that are hosted by the Resort that have fun games and activities. Some of which include a bounce house, movie nights, horse shoe toss, live music, and even a food truck. There are also plenty of hiking opportunities nearby. The property even has a pet pony named Marley! Our family stayed extremely busy with all the fun activities offered. Our favorite activities were the river rafting, the fishing, and all of the hiking opportunities.
Resort staff and Owners...
The Provo River Resort has so much to offer and the way it is run has a huge part in keeping it an oasis for RVers and guests. The staff has done an amazing job! The facilities are cleaned throughout the day. The front office is stalked with snacks, souvenirs, cold drinks, and all the little things you forgot to bring on your trip. The landscaping is well maintained and keeps the integrity of the surrounding environment. The decision to not offer full hook-ups allows the river and wild life to be preserved and go untainted. It is a small price to pay to be in such a beautiful place. All pets must be on leashes at all time to avoid any unnecesary issues. They are very big on cleaning up after your pets. The speed limit in the park is 5 miles an hour. It is strictly enforced to keep all guests safe, especially kids who are out and about creating memories. The vibe we got was that common sense and common courtesy are appreciated by the Provo River Resort. However, when it didn't seem so common, the staff was great about reminding those who needed a little reminding. We definitely appreciated all of the efforts of the Provo River Resort in making sure our stay here was fun and safe.
Adventure close by...
The Provo River Resort is an ideal location to go off adventuring. There are so many amazing places to visit! Some of these places are right down the road. One of the first places we visited was the Bridal Veil falls which was a 10 min drive. It was amazing to hike up the mouth of the falls and reach the actual waterfall! We also took the 15 min drive up to Sun Dance Ski Resort. The ski lift to the top was our favorite. We hiked the Donut Falls trail which was only a 1 hour drive. We visited the Fifth water (Diamond Fork) Hot springs, a two hour drive. It was totally worth it. One of the best trips we took was The Arches National Park, about a 3 hour drive. These are only a few of the surrounding places to visit and we will definitely be coming back to experience them all!
Is this the Resort For you?
As with anything, when deciding if something is for you, there is a lot to consider. We hope that by sharing our experience here it can show how amazing this place is, but also bring forward the things to consider when staying here. There is no shortage of fun, beauty, excitement, and relaxation at the Provo River Resort. The Resort is in an ideal location with amazing adventures near by. When staying here, we loved the way the owners and staff paid attention to all the details of the Resort. There is a big emphasis on common courtesy, preservation of the land river and wild life, and safety of their guests. If you are a person who can respect the rules of the park and do not mind a reminder of any that you may have forgotten, then you will definitely fit right in!
